IADC

THERAPY & TRAINING

an extraordinary tREATMENT for grief

with César Valdez, LMSW

IADC Co-Executive Director & Trainer

Developed by Dr. Allan Botkin, IADC Therapy is a brief, intensive intervention for grieving clients. As a derivative of EMDR Therapy, it implements vital changes to the standard EMDR protocol to target clients’ sadness associated with their loss. In a majority of cases, clients will experience a perception of connection with their deceased loved-one, resulting in a profoundly healing transformation of their grief.

César has presented on IADC Therapy at:

  • EMDR International Association Conference — Denver CO — September 2014

  • Veterans Mental Health Summit — Rochester IN — May 2017

  • Association for Death Education and Counseling Conference — Pittsburgh PA — April 2018

  • Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement — Live Webinar — April 2022

César Valdez trains clinicians around the world in the IADC method

Services

  • IADC Training

We offer a 1-day online training in the IADC Therapy method for EMDR (or similarly-trained) clinicians. IADC Training offers therapists a way to reliably guide clients through efficient processing of their sadness, and in a majority of cases, experience a healing perception of connection with their deceased loved one.

  • Drop-in Consultation

For those already trained in the IADC Therapy method, we offer regular 90-minute Drop-In Consultation sessions. These question and answer sessions foster deeper discussion about IADC principles and practice and also offer a great way to build community with other IADC therapists from around the world.

  • IADC Treatment

Grieving clients have the opportunity to undergo the IADC Therapy method with César and experience radical shifts in their sadness and feelings of separation from a loved one. Clients are accepted on a limited basis only. All sessions are via videoconference for clients located in the state of Michigan at the time of treatment.
